A Marriage or Civil Partnership is a profound ceremony, a loving union that brings two individuals together, uniting them as one. It is a declaration of lifelong love and commitment, rich with deep symbolic meaning.

Each ceremony I create is Individually crafted for you and intricately designed with care to capture and embody your unique journey. Your ceremony is more than just words; it reflects the profound bond that unites you and the enchanting stories that intertwine you.

Understanding Civil Partnerships:

Civil partnerships mirror marriages by affording couples similar rights, obligations, and benefits. They are available to both same-sex and opposite-sex couples and are formed by signing a civil partnership document. While legally distinct from marriages, both share the essence of a lifelong commitment.

Legal Distinctions:

Unlike marriages, civil partnerships do not allow any religious content to be included in the ceremony and have restrictions on certain ceremonial words. 

Marriages, on the other hand, can include additional elements and are formalised by exchanging of vows and the signing of a marriage certificate.

An independent celebrant-led ceremony, while not legally binding unless conducted at a licensed wedding/civil partnership venue with a registrar present, offers unparalleled freedom.

With fewer restrictions, these ceremonies offer the flexibility to include elements that reflect the couple's customs and beliefs, ensuring a personalised and meaningful celebration.

In a celebrant-led ceremony, whether it is an intimate gathering or a grand celebration, you have the freedom to include any content you desire, such as music, poems, readings, vows, promises, family traditions, customs, or symbolic rituals.

Your ceremony can be held in a variety of unique locations whenever you choose, as long as you have gained permission from your chosen venue.

Whether it is in a charming garden, a historic mansion, a picturesque beach, or a cosy family home, the choice of location is entirely yours.

Please Note​

For any kind of ceremony to take place where two people are committing to each other, both must be free to commit and not legally married or committed to any other person.

​

To make your union legal, you will need to do this at your local Register Office before your main ceremony (unless you are holding your ceremony at a licensed venue with a registrar present).

​

For a Civil Partnership to gain legal recognition, it must be legally registered for your partnership to have the same rights as that of a legal marriage.

​

Please be aware that as a Civil Celebrant, I cannot conduct a religious service.
