Naming Ceremonies

Ceremonies starting from £500

A Naming Ceremony is a profoundly heartfelt and meaningful occasion, providing you with the opportunity to warmly welcome and celebrate the arrival of a new baby, embrace the adoption of a child, or joyfully recognise stepchildren as cherished members of your family.

It is also a special way to acknowledge and celebrate a change of name.

A naming ceremony serves as a meaningful way to involve the significant people in your child’s life; those who will offer enduring love, guidance, and support to them throughout their journey including, siblings, grandparents, guide parents or mentors.

They play unique roles in your child's life and may express their hopes and dreams for your child, declaring commitment and love through vows or promises witnessed by family and friends.

Additionally, this occasion enables them to extend their love and support to you as parents in the upbringing of your child.

A celebrant-led ceremony offers you the flexibility to host your event in any location and tailor it to your preferences.

You can hold your ceremony pretty much anywhere, as long as you have gained permission from your chosen location.

You have the freedom to choose from various settings, such as a scenic country park, an enchanting forest, a charming village hall, an elegant hotel, a picturesque seaside setting, or even the comfort of your own garden at home.

The diverse options empower you to create a naming ceremony that authentically reflects your unique style.

Within this special ceremony, you can incorporate different elements like, family traditions or symbolic rituals such as planting a tree or bulb, creating a family tree with fingerprints, participating in a sand blending ceremony, or creating hand or footprints that leave a lasting memory.

You may choose to incorporate poems, readings, or express vows and promises to your child.

It is a poignant moment to weave heartfelt words into the fabric of your family's story.

Whether you dream of a lavish celebration with grand gestures or prefer an intimate gathering, the essence remains focused on love and connection.

This is your ceremony, crafted to reflect your unique style.

It is an opportunity to create a personal, unique, and profoundly meaningful experience that will forever be cherished by your family.

The possibilities are endless.

Please Note:

A Naming Ceremony does not legally register the birth of a child or legally change a person’s name.

A child’s birth must be registered at the registry office or in some cases it can be done in the hospital at which the child was born.

For a change of name to be legally recognised, it must be done by deed poll before your new name can be legally recognised and used on official documents.

If you are over 18 to legally change your name you must apply to the Royal Courts of Justice to get an ‘enrolled’ deed poll using the deed poll process.
